No, you don’t need a special coffee pod or K-cup to use the brew ID. The brew ID works with your phone when a k-cup or pod is inserted. The Keurig detects the brand your using with a built in camera and will send brew settings and recipes that are recommended for that particular blend. The brew settings and the recipes are from the people who make the roasted coffee blends and is based off of their recommendations for the perfect cup of coffee.
Can You Use Regular Coffee With A Keurig?
Yes, you can use any brand or flavor coffee with a Keurig. You will put your ground coffee into the reusable filter, they come with the Keurigs. After you add your preferred coffee you will place it in the pod setting and brew to your liking. When you’re done just empty out the used coffee grounds, rinse and repeat as needed.
